When You Cant Control

A reader asked me a simple question yesterday.

When You Cant Control

Has anyone written the field guide for the woman in that fight?

I answered in three words.

My wife has.

Christie has done the work. The study exists.

Another reader asked “Is there a KJV Bible study guide with answers to questions that can help women?”

She described herself as “dreading the future and waiting on God.” She wanted the King James Bible because its language was familiar to her. She wanted answers and questions she could actually work through.

Then another reader wanted something “more personal and tailored to my needs,” with writing space and “questions that can test my understanding.”

A woman helping start a church study asked for sound doctrine and practical questions. Another woman said the sheer number of studies left her “overwhelmed with options.”

then this:

“I am looking for advice/suggestions for a good biblical study/book that would help one with anxiety and fear.”

These women were looking for a Bible study rooted in Scripture, with enough structure to begin alone, enough substance to finish with other women, and something useful when the house is quiet and the mind is still working.

A husband can miss that last part.

CAGED: WHY CHRISTIAN MEN TURN TO PORN

The cage isn't the porn. The cage is everything the porn is feeding. This is the biblical intelligence gathering and battle plan.

He sees the appointments kept, the children remembered, the message answered, the bill paid, the next problem anticipated. Everything is getting done, so he calls her competent.

He should ask what that competence is costing her.

Some women are carrying tomorrow before today is finished. They are replaying a conversation everyone else has already left. They are checking the number again. They are planning three steps ahead because the thought of one loose end feels like negligence.

Their minds never clock out.

The Bible does not mock that care. It tells us where the care must go.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:7

Peter acknowledges the care, commands us to cast it, then gives the reason: “for he careth for you.”

That verse is easy to print on a mug. It is harder to obey at midnight when the problem still exists, the person still has not called, the answer still has not come, and tomorrow still refuses to explain itself.

Christie built a six-week King James Bible study for that hour.

When You Can’t Control It keeps the Bible open and gives the reader actual work to do. One passage at a time. Plain teaching. Honest questions. Writing space. One practice for the week.

At the center is a simple piece of work for sorting the loads people carry:

God’s alone.

Mine to obey.

Shared or released.

Some outcomes belong to God.

Some duties are yours today.

Some weight belongs to another person, or needs to be carried with help instead of hidden behind competence.

That distinction makes fear show its paperwork. Is this God’s? Is it mine? Or am I carrying another person’s load?

Men, ask your wife one question tonight:

What is your mind still trying to solve after the house goes quiet?

Then listen long enough to hear the answer.

Take the work that belongs to you. Help her name the next faithful thing that belongs to her. Remind each other what belongs to God alone.

And if she has been looking for a serious study to work through beside her Bible, Christie wrote one.

It is 40 printable pages, with the EPUB included. It can be used alone or worked through with a small group. It is pay what you want, with a $5 minimum.

Women are asking for a Bible study.

Christie has written it.
