Hit the heart. ❤️ Restack it.
A 26-year-old street preacher named Hans Schmidt was standing on an Arizona street corner.
Sharing the Gospel. Out loud. In public.
Someone walked up and shot him in the head.
He didn’t even know he’d been hit. He gathered his things. Drove back to his church.
Then he started losing his speech. Seizures began.
Doctors found the bullet lodged in his brain. Life support. Medically induced coma.
They told his family there was little hope.
The secular world sees a tragedy. A random act of gun violence in a broken society.
They’re not wrong. They’re just incomplete.
They see a crime scene.
We see a battlefield.
This wasn’t random. This was a spiritual assassination attempt.
The devil hates the name of Jesus Christ. He hates the Gospel. He will use any vessel he can find to pull the trigger on the men who preach it.
But God had other plans.
After weeks of prayer, Hans woke up. He spoke. He went home to his family.
The shooter is still out there. They haven’t caught him.
But listen to what Hans said about the man who put a bullet in his brain:
“I should not be alive... but by His grace and His love, I am still here. I forgive him.”
That is the power of the Holy Ghost.
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. — Matthew 10:28
The gates of hell threw lead at this man’s skull.
The Gospel still came out of his mouth.
Are you going to let the fear of man keep your mouth shut?
Or are you going to preach the truth no matter what it costs?
Your answer changes everything.

P.S. When I see stories like Hans Schmidt, it reminds me the war isn’t theoretical. I’ve faced hostility for speaking the truth. Every time, it hardens my resolve. If you’re standing for Christ, you will be a target. Keep preaching anyway.
